Game theory, meditation and innovative teaching practices were all topics for discussion as more than 750 faculty and staff from Humber College's three campuses came together to participate in the college’s 27th annual Showcase event.

The day of workshops, speeches and collaboration, run by the Humber Centre for Teaching and Learning, is a valuable opportunity for the college’s teaching community to interact with each other beyond the classroom.

“Showcase is an important part of Humber’s ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and learning,” says Carl Oliver, professor in Humber's School of Applied Technology. “It’s our yearly chance to come together as a community to share best practices, network with colleagues and learn from each other.”

The day included a Meditation session conducted by Business Placement Advisor, Sanjukta Das, who is also an Art of Living Teacher

“Humber’s commitment to professional development is second-to-none,” says Lara Hof, the college’s community judicial manager. “We’re given regular opportunities to learn and grow in our roles – and, in the end, that benefits the students we work with.  It’s an inspiring community.”
